Nomatter who you are, if you own a car you need to have a good mechanics number handy. But the problem is not all mechanics are the same. There are dealerships that work on cars, local repair shops, auto repair places that are part of a larger franchise, and then of course there are specialists. These specialists often work on only a few things like mufflers, breaks, or car electronics. For me, when I moved to a new city I didn’t have time to look for a bunch of different shops when I didn’t even have any immediate need for any repairs. I wanted to find the best full service repair shop in Richmond I could take my car to whether I had a loose belt, or needed work on my breaks and so far Aarrow Transmissions has been great.
So why did I go with this type of company instead of going with one of the other options? Well for starters, my car is not covered under a dealership warranty anymore, and taking it there without it turned out to be really expensive. As I mentioned, finding multiple specialists to change my oil, another for brakes, and yet another for muffler service was too much work for me. Aarrow was just big enough for me. They can take care of everything I need and have 2 local locations which they have been in for years so have enough experience where I feel comfortable and safe bringing my car there.
So what other kind of work does a full service car repair shop do?:
- Oil changes
- Cooling system service
- Electrical work such as starters, alternators, and lights
- Radiator service
- Hoses and belts
- Tires and break work
- Fuel system

If you don’t have a full service auto repair place who you trust in your area, it may be time to shop around. I wish I had done this in my old town sooner. Thankfully I have one now im happy with I can take to no matter what kind of repair my car needs.
